What

If you want to continue in business under the registered name, the business name must be renewed within six (6) months after the expiration of the five(5) year effectivity of the Business Name Registration. If the business name is renewed past the three (3) months period following the expiration of the license, an additional PhP 100.00 surcharge will be added to the renewal fee.

If your business name expires, and you wish to continue using the name, you will be required to re-register the name.

How to File:

Who can renew a business name

Only a current proprietor of the business name can sign the renewal statement.

If the proprietors have changed, it will be necessary for a 'Change of Particulars of Registered Business Name' to be lodged prior to, or at the time of renewal.

What happens after submitting my application for renewal

On receipt of the renewal statement, relevant documents and the renewal fee, your business name will be valid for five years. A new certificate will be given to you.

General Requirements

For Single Proprietorship: BTRCP Form No. 16A BTRCP16A - Business Name Application for Sole Proprietorships (Original and Renewal) [to be printed using Legal-sized bond paper (8.5" x 14")]

Original copy of Business Name Certificate

If original copy is lost, affidavit of loss of owner

Two copies of latest 2x2 ID pictures bearing applicant's signature at the back

Payment of Php300.00

Payment for documentary stamp of Php15.00

For a Corporate Name Registered as a Business Name: BTRCP Form No. 16B BTRCP16B- Business Name Application for Corporations, Partnership and Other Juridical Entities (Original and Renewal) [to be printed using Legal-sized bond paper (8.5" x 14")]

Original copy of Business Name Certificate

If original copy is lost, affidavit of loss of owner

Certified true/machine copy of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Registration Certificate and Articles of Incorporation by SEC or Corporate Secretary in each of the pages

If registering an adopted name, board resolution for the use and registration of an adopted name

Board Resolution re appointment of the authorized signatory, if signatory is not one of the incorporators

Payment of Php500.00

Payment for documentary stamp of Php15.00

For Cooperatives BTRCP Form No. 16B BTRCP16B- Business Name Application for Corporations, Partnership and Other Juridical Entities (Original and Renewal) [to be printed using Legal-sized bond paper (8.5" x 14")]

Original copy of Business Name Certificate

Certified true copy of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Certificate and Articles of Cooperation by CDA or Board Secretary in each of the pages

If registering an adopted name, board resolution for the use and registration of an adopted name

Board Resolution re appointment of the authorized signatory, if signatory is not one of the board members

Payment of Php500.00

Payment for documentary stamp of Php15.00

Other Requirements:

If the surname of the owner/registrant is suggestive of an alien nationality, any of the following documents (original and photocopy):

o Birth certificate

o Voter's ID

o Passport, and

o Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) ID

If engaged in the practice of a profession:

o PRC regulated professions - original and photocopy of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) ID and contract of employment (if applicable) or certification of good standing from PRC

o Insurance Agent - License from the Insurance Commission

o Real Estate Broker/Salesman - License from Department of Trade and Industry

If engaged in repair and service business covered by P.D. 1572 (Accreditation Law) and its implementing rules, a Certificate of Accreditation is required.

If there is a change in the marital status, a marriage certificate is required.

Such other requirements that the DTI may require to protect public interest.

Surcharge Fee:

The application for renewal may be filed within three months from the expiration of the five (5)- year period, without surcharge.

If the application for renewal is filed after the said period of three (3) months, it shall be subject to a surcharge, to be added to the registration fee, in the amount of ONE HUNDRED PESOS (Php100.00)
